Rex Bennett, vice president for University advancement

Sherri Harter

Rex first came to Taylor in August 2005 as the father of Katelyn ’09, then again in 2008, with Hannah ’12. As of September 2017, he now serves as Vice President for University Advancement. Prior to joining the Taylor leadership team, Rex served As Vice President for Development–Finance at FSJ, Inc., an Indianapolis real estate development and management company. He previously served as an equity member of the Indianapolis law firm of Frost Brown Todd LLC, specializing in commercial real estate. He and his wife, Nancy, live in Noblesville, IN.

Sherri Harter, Chief of Staff

Sherri HarterSherri has served Taylor for more than 25 years in the areas of public relations, donor relations, and philanthropy. As the Chief of Staff, she works in the President’s Office, but she still has Advancement responsibilities. Sherri and her husband, Ted, live in Bluffton, IN. The Harters have two sons—Thad '12 and Tory '16.

Michael Falder '94, Executive Director of Development

Michael Falder

As the Executive Director of Development, Mike provides planned giving assistance and leads the team of Regional Directors for Development as they travel the country meeting with alumni and friends. Prior to returning to Taylor in 2007, he served for 10 years as Executive Director of Central Michigan Youth for Christ. He completed his Masters Degree in Philanthropic Studies at Indiana University in 2012. Mike lives in Upland, IN with his wife, Traci, and their children, Jonah and Lydia.

KRISTIE (KUHNLE ’90) JACOBSON, Executive director of development

Kristie Jacobson

Kristie has the privilege of leading the teams responsible for the Taylor Scholarship Fund, donor services, donor engagement, and annual and endowed scholarships. Kristie started her career with Taylor in 1991 when she served as the Director of Public Information, and then as the Director of the Annual Fund (TUFW). Kristie then began work with Project Mercy as a grant writer until 2003 when the Lord led her and her husband (Jeff '89) to start a small non-profit in Fort Wayne, IN. Kristie led this organization as executive director for 10 years, and then in August 2013 returned to Taylor as a Regional Director of Development. Kristie assumed the role of Executive Director of Development in January 2018.

Kristie and her husband Jeff reside in Fort Wayne, Ind. and have four children—Gabe, Tate ’22, Levi ’22, and Chloe.

David Ritchie '96, Senior Director of Campaigns


David has been serving as a member of the Advancement staff since 2000, when he joined the team as the editor of Taylor magazine. He currently serves as the Senior Director of Campaigns. David and his family live in Upland, IN.

Laura Key, Director of Advancement & Donor Services


Laura has been with Taylor since 1997. Her job as the Director of Advancement and Donor Services allows her to provide database support, write reports, and oversee the receipting of gifts to the University. Laura and her husband, John, live in Swayzee, IN, where John serves as the pastor of Maple Run Friends Church. They have two grown children—Samuel and Abby ’10.

Laura’s area is also served by the Data Specialist, Christi Stargel, and the Assistant to Donor Services, Barbra Haley.

Michael D Mortensen ’91, Director of Scholarships


Michael has served Taylor since 1997 (with the exception of a year and a half when he and his wife were short-term missionaries) in various alumni and development roles. Michael and his wife, Christine ’92, who got engaged underneath the Rice Bell Tower, have four children—Ashlyn ’17, Alli ’20, Anna, and David. The family loves having students in their home to be a “home away from home” and taking students on short-term mission projects. The family resides in Fort Wayne, IN, where Michael also serves as Taylor’s Director of Fort Wayne Alumni & Friend Relations.

Delilah Earls '15, Director of Donor Engagement

Delilah has served Taylor since 2002 when she joined the Planned Giving staff. She chose to continue her education and obtained an Associate’s degree from Taylor in 2015. Her current role as Director of Donor Engagement allows her to work with a staff of current Taylor students as they reach out to Taylor alumni and build relationships that will advance Taylor’s mission.

Tom Green '81, Regional Director of Development

Tom Green

Tom serves as one of Taylor’s Regional Directors for Development. He has the joy of working with Taylor alumni, parents, and friends throughout the eastern third of the U.S. in order to advance the mission of Taylor University.

Tom is married to Laurie (Kesler ’81) Green. Their three children are married and have blessed them with four beautiful grandchildren. He joined Taylor’s Advancement team in 2007 after working for 25 years in the investment industry. Tom is a fan of all sports – particularly the Colts and Cubs. He has also enjoyed acting on stage and in some television commercials over the years.

Nelson Rediger '66, Regional Director of Development

Nelson Rediger

Nelson has been serving with Taylor since 1986 as a Regional Director for Development. Nelson works with Taylor alumni, parents and friends nationwide in order to advance the mission of Taylor University.  Nelson lives in Muncie, IN, with his wife, Beth, also a Taylor alum. Their two daughters—Erin ’99 and April ’01—have blessed Nelson and Beth with six grandchildren.

Steve Ford, Regional Director of Development

Steve Ford

Steve Ford serves the alumni, parents, and friends of Taylor University in the Chicago area and the southwestern states as a Regional Director of Development.  Steve is married to Janine, his wife of 28 years, and is father to two Taylor graduates—Sean '13 and Colin '16. He joined Taylor's Advancement team in 2017 after having extensive experience working in Marketing and Communications in the nonprofit industry.
