Dr. Erik Thoennes Speaker for Taylor’s Spring Spiritual Renewal Week

Dr. Erik Thoennes, Professor of Biblical and Theological Studies at Biola University, is the featured speaker for Taylor University’s Spring Spiritual Renewal Week, which begins Monday at 10:00 a.m., in the Rediger Chapel/Auditorium on the Taylor campus.

Thoennes has written and contributed to eight books including Godly Jealousy: A Theology of Intolerant Love and The Image of God in the Human Body. He is an affiliate of the Evangelical Theological Society. Thoennes holds a B.A. in Philosophy (Central Connecticut State), two Master degrees (Wheaton College) in Theological Studies and Evangelism, and a Doctorate in Systematic Theology (Trinity Evangelical).

He has spoken at churches and colleges around the world and has spoken at Taylor on several occasions speaking at Spiritual Renewal, Heritage Weekend Chapel, Homecoming Chapel, Evening Vespers, and Men’s Conference. His last visit to Taylor was in 2010.

“The purpose of Spiritual Renewal week is to refresh our hearts in the gospel by way of God’s Word and Spirit,” said Taylor Campus Pastor, Randy Gruendyke. “That purpose should shape our prayers as we anticipate the coming week.”

The four part series called The Supremacy and Sufficiency of Christ will focus on the New Testament passage Hebrews 1:1-4.  All services are open to the public and take place in the Rediger Chapel/Auditorium at 10:00 a.m., Monday and Wednesday, and 7:00 p.m., Monday and Tuesday.
