Envision Film Festival Announces Guests

Taylor University Media Communication faculty have announced the guest speakers for the Envision Film Festival to be held February 28 and March 1-2, 2013 at Taylor University. The film festival includes three days of film screenings, workshops and an awards ceremony.

Returning to her alma mater is Cassie Boyd Baker, a voice-over artist from Hollywood and the newly appointed coordinator of Taylor University’s Hollywood Internship Program in Los Angeles. Baker is a 1995 Taylor graduate and an accomplished voice actor.

Taylor graduate Jack Lugar will speak at the festival, drawing on his career in entertainment. Lugar was a sitcom writer for Wanda at Large and Life with Louie. He is the author of The Starving Artist’s Diet and the creator of TheSitcomLab.com, a one-stop shop for everything sitcom.

Also featured at the festival will be audio expert Clay Stahlka whose resume includes audio work on feature films (Days of Thunder, The Natural), many independent films and broadcast events for the NBA, NFL, NHL and NASCAR. Stahlka is also the “go-to audio guy” for A&E and Discovery networks when the shoot news stories in Indiana.

Additional hands-on filmmaking workshops will be offered for visiting high school students. Those include training on specialty cinematography equipment including Steadicam and CineSlider, Avid editing software and special FX software, After Effects.

The Envision Film Festival honors Taylor University filmmakers and aspiring high school filmmakers whose visual storytelling explores the range of human experience with hopeful vision, artistry, truthfulness and integrity.
