Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Minor/Certification)

Add the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) qualification to any major.

Teach English to non-native speakers—people from different cultures, ages, educational backgrounds, and proficiency levels. This qualification will help you teach overseas or in diverse communities, broaden your teaching perspective, and increase your marketability in any workplace. The TESOL program will develop you as a culturally sensitive, competent, knowledgeable, and caring TESOL professional.

Students in any major can add one of these programs:

  • TESOL Certificate (4 courses)
  • TESOL Minor (2 additional courses)

Students in any education major can also add the TESOL licensure to their teaching credentials by adding one course to the TESOL Certificate. The TESOL licensure is a K-12 endorsement.
