Biography

Advice to Incoming Students

Be open to participating in a wide range of experiences and opportunities while at Taylor. God can use these experiences and the people around you to shape you into the person He wants you to become. You can be assured that you won’t be the same person at the end of your four years here as you were when you entered.

Why I Came to Taylor

I came to Taylor because I believe in the vision and purpose of the Institution and the people who study and work here. I also believe that Taylor is distinctive in its combination of academic excellence, intentional community/discipleship, and global involvement.

Hobbies

Sports, playing games with family, hiking, spending time in Asia, and preaching.

Major Career Accomplishments

I have been involved in international and cross-cultural education for my whole career. I have worked in ESL program development and administration at the University of Michigan and Colorado State University. I also served as Provost (Country Director) for English Language Institute/China based in Beijing. In addition to leading well established language teaching programs I was also involved in creating strategic initiatives to improve education and teacher training in less developed areas of China and other parts of Asia.
