Professor of Film & Media Arts
I have taught at Taylor University for 18 years. I spent the first part of my career in the film and television industries, primarily in the areas of management, executive producing, directing and operations as well as being self-employed as a producer, director and writer.
I’ve taught at Taylor since 2005. In 2023 I was honored with the Teaching Excellence and Campus Leadership award. Prior to teaching, I worked in television and video production. I’m an award winning writer/director/executive producer with films that have screened at festivals nationwide.
I have served as executive producer, director and writer of television programs at the state, national and international level, with projects carried by PBS, CNN, FOX, TBS (etc.) and nationally distributed private networks. Clients and guests included the office of President George H.W. Bush, Russian President Mikhail Gorbachev, First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, Nobel laureate Arno Penzias, NASA engineers and astronauts, Governors and Senators from several states, Olympic Gold Medal-winning athletes and well-known music acts.
I’ve had the privilege to design and supervise several production facilities - in broadcast television, state government and education. As a Faculty Fellow of the Television Academy Foundation and member of the Broadcast Education Association and University Film and Video Association, I’ve had many opportunities to contribute to the areas I teach. I’m married to Kathy and have a son, Andrew, who is a Taylor senior. Our dog Cali, although not eligible for enrollment at Taylor, does have many friends there.
