Adjunct Instructor of Harp
Kathryn Fenstermacher is a freelance harpist based in east central Indiana. With more than 15 years’ orchestral experience, she regularly performs as principal harpist with area symphonies, including Orchestra Indiana, Ball State Symphony Orchestra, Manchester Symphony Orchestra, and Symphony of the Lakes. She has been a guest artist for Music Festival Palouse, and was a finalist in the 2020 Midwest Harp Festival Solo Competition.
Originally from State College, PA, Kathryn studied with Elizabeth Richter at the Ball State harp studio while attending Taylor University, from which she graduated in 2013. She is an active member of the American Harp Society. In addition to teaching at Taylor, Kathryn serves as adjunct harp faculty at Indiana Wesleyan University. She teaches private harp lessons and directs a harp ensemble at Arts Place, a community school for the arts, where she also serves as the MusicWorks Faculty Chair. Kathryn and her husband, Dr. Scott Fenstermacher, are a licensed foster family and live in Hartford City.
