Department Co-Chair and Professor of Film & Media Arts
I have 30+ years of experience as a producer/director/writer of nonfiction stories for film, television and video. My feature documentary, "Last Year at the Crossing," was accepted by the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, the Heartland International Film Festival and the St. Louis International Film Festival among others. I've executive produced dozens of student documentary projects that have been accepted by more than 200 film festivals in the last three years. I was honored to receive Taylor's Distinguished Professor Award from the Alumni Association (2018) and the Dr. Joe Burnworth Award for Teaching (2010). Currently I'm directing a short documentary about an artist/professor.
I was born and raised on the east coast—NYC, Pennsylvania, Boston, Long Island—until my high school years which I spent in Windsor, Ontario, my amazing husband John's home town. John and I have spent the majority of our married life together in Minnesota, Kentucky, and Indiana, with shorter stops in Texas and Chicago. I enjoy flower gardening, photography, vacations at the beach, playing ball with our dog Cali, and hosting students at our house in Upland. Our son Andrew, age 22, is a Taylor University senior and our pride and joy. Preparing the next generation of visual storytellers is my life's calling.
