Adjunct Instructor of Dance
Kory Browder, with over 25 years of experience, is an esteemed dance instructor and choreographer specializing in Musical Theatre and Ballet. Based in Central Indiana, Kory is a graduate of Ball State University with a BS in Dance Performance. She has honed her skills both on and off stage performing with various companies and Universities, including a career with Carnival Cruise Lines. She has showcased her talent as a performer in The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Damn Yankees to name a few. As a choreographer, she has created many pieces for Regional Dance America, Ball State University Dance Theatre, Ball State University Singers, Indiana Wesleyan University and most notably for Taylor University Theatre and Lyric Theatre. Some of her favorite works include Oklahoma, Mary Poppins, Pirates of Penzance, and most recently Newsies. Kory’s most treasured accomplishment was her role as Producer, Director and Choreographer for The Nutcracker with Community School of the Arts and Marion Philharmonic Orchestra, bringing the ballet to life in Marion, Indiana.
As an educator, Kory is dedicated to nurture students and dancers, emphasizing strong technique and fluid movements. Her ballet courses focus on techniques she studied including Cecchetti Method and Kniaseff Floor Barre. Her courses in Musical Theatre include Theatre Jazz and Musical Theatre Tap, focusing on a strong stage presence and technical skills. In her classes, students can expect a blend of technical training and creative choreography. All designed to challenge and inspire her students and encourage them to reach their fullest potential. She has served as Ballet Instructor at Ball State University, Adjunct Faculty at Indiana Wesleyan University, Ballet Instructor with Community School of the Arts, Assistant Director of Anderson Young Ballet Theatre, and taught at many local studios. Kory has been with Taylor University since 2009 as Adjunct Faculty and Choreographer.
Kory currently resides in Marion, Indiana, with her husband Bobby, where she loves to cook, travel, spoil her dogs, and practice any sort of physical fitness daily. She and Bobby are new empty nesters with two children currently in college. Kory believes her trust in God’s will has brought her to Taylor for the past decade, expanding her faith, education, and relationships. She continues to work on her accomplishments as both instructor and choreographer in the grace of God.
