Career Accomplishments

• While a graduate student instructor at the University of Michigan, Leon Harshenin received the Joanne A. Smith Pedagogy Award for outstanding teaching.
• Numerous performances with the Marion Philharmonic (now Orchestra Indiana) and conference presentations. Much in demand as a competition adjudicator.
• Active as a solo and chamber music recitalist.

About

Taylor is a great place to work. Here I can continue to develop as a pedagogue and performer, being challenged to continue growing spiritually by both colleagues and students. I pray and trust that my teaching and modeling is a blessing to students, helping make them brighter lights and saltier salt for Christ’s glory. This is where I feel called to be right now. Finding satisfaction in one’s work is one of life’s greatest blessings (Eccl. 2:24).

I grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I love visiting national parks and hiking in the mountains, as well as traveling in Europe. I enjoy watching ice hockey, football, and soccer. I'm a film buff with diverse tastes, and an aficionado of ethnic foods.
