Adjunct Instructor of Piano
Rachel Riddle joined the adjunct music faculty at Taylor University in Spring of 2023, where she enjoys teaching applied piano lessons. She also teaches music theory and aural skills courses at Ball State University. She is currently working on an Artist Diploma in Piano Performance at BSU.
In addition to collegiate teaching, Rachel Riddle spent three years teaching middle school and high school choir and 5th grade beginning orchestra. She also worked with the Yakima Children’s Choir as a director and accompanist. She has served as an adjudicator for both the Central Washington University Sonatina Festival and the Muncie Junior Music Festival.
Rachel Riddle enjoys being active as a pianist. In 2017, she participated in InterHarmony International Music Festival in Sulzbach-Rosenberg Germany, where she performed solo and chamber music. She has been selected to perform in masterclasses for Stephan Drury, Jon Kimura Parker, Sandra Wright Shen, and others. In 2015, Rachel Riddle was awarded a Summer Creative Research Fellowship which permitted her to research and give lecture recitals on the Washington State Composer, Marion Bauer.
When not practicing the piano, Rachel Riddle loves spending time outdoors with her Australian Shepherd, Lucy. As a Washingtonian, she has a deep love for being in nature. She currently resides in Muncie, Indiana.
