Academic Clubs & Special Interests

Taylor offers a broad array of academic and recreational clubs—there’s something for everyone! You’ll get to collaborate, network, and have fun with peers who share your interests, hobbies, and passions. Whether you have a talent for debates or a knack for improv, there is a club for you and a chance to grow closer to fellow students, faculty, and your calling.

Alpha Pi Iota

This pre-healthcare club is open to any student interested in going into a healthcare field. Facilitated by a practicing medical doctor, Alpha Pi Iota allows you to focus on medical ethics, prepare for the MCAT, share summer research experiences, hear from health care professionals, and talk about graduate-level health care programs.

Chemistry majors are able to join Taylor’s chapter of the American Chemistry Society, the premier governing organization in the field of chemistry.

Cybersecurity majors and other interested students meet for a student-run cybersecurity club and compete against other schools, where each team must patch their vulnerable programs while attempting to exploit the other teams’ vulnerabilities.

Flannery O’Connor Society

Develop research, interview, and writing skills by contributing to The Flannery O’Connor Society’s blog, an outlet that encourages and supports the literary study of Flannery O’Connor and her creative work. It also keeps track of where O’Connor appears in the media and academic journals. Dr. Colleen Warren, Professor of English, is Vice President of the national society and provides students a direct connection to the society’s work.

International Justice Mission

Taylor students have recently formed their own chapter of International Justice Mission. This international organization serves in developing countries and attempts to protect innocent individuals from being exploited. They work against slavery, sex trafficking, sexual violence, police brutality, land theft, and citizen rights abuse all around the world. Taylor’s IJM seeks to advocate for the international company’s mission through prayer and fundraising.

IXL CLub (Investing in Excellence)

Investing Excellence (IXL) gives students the opportunity to engage with and learn from the Student Managed Investment Fund (i.e. Endowment Teams), seeking to glorify God in our faithful stewardship of His money. Open to all Taylor students, the IXL Club incorporates all aspects of the business curriculum, putting into practice security selection and asset allocation, all while applying a biblical framework to investment decisions. Students meet regularly to review current news and economic events, portfolio allocation changes, and buy/sell side reports.

Education majors can join 1.2 million education students from across the globe in this exclusive, international honor society. Students network, attend seminars, initiate service projects, gain access to scholarships and grants, mentor others, and much more.

Taylor’s Math Club allows Mathematics majors to interact and create deep, spiritual relationships outside of the classroom. Math Club sponsors a variety of events, including department picnics, game nights, holiday parties, and meals.

Not just for Psychology majors, the Psychology Club provides a space for both students and faculty to work together and provide meaningful experiences through service-learning projects, academic and informational meetings, and social events. Weekly club meetings sometimes feature guest speakers who talk about psychology basics, career paths, and master’s degree opportunities.
