MAHE Admissions

One of the greatest benefits of a smaller graduate program is the opportunity we have to know our students in meaningful ways. This benefit also applies to our prospective students! We are grateful and honored by your interest in the program, and we are excited to get to know you through the admissions process. Please know that we stand-by ready to help you and answer any questions you may have throughout the process.

Application Process

Taylor University is seeking applicants who are committed to preparing themselves professionally and personally. Applicants must possess or anticipate a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. or international college or university and should demonstrate undergraduate and/or professional experience related to student development or other higher education leadership.

Completed applications for the MAHE Program will be reviewed after each application deadline until the fall cohort has reached enrollment capacity.

The following application items are required for our Master of Arts in Higher Education application process:

Admissions Application

  1. Admissions Narrative
    • Work Experience (professional, student or other) related to higher education and/or student development
    • Personal qualities likely to lend to your success in the field of higher education
    • Professional goals
    • Educational goals
  2. Resumé
    You will upload this during the online application.
  3. Transcripts
    Submit official transcripts from all previous undergraduate and graduate institutions to Taylor University via mail (address provided during online application process).
  4. References
    Submit email addresses for three references: two academic (or one academic, one student leadership) and one pastoral.

Admissions Interview

We will schedule an admissions interview with you after receiving your application.

We are happy to conduct admissions interviews in-person or via Zoom. 

Matriculation Fee

If you choose to secure your spot in the program, you will need to submit a $300 matriculation fee. The matriculation fee is your advanced payment which will be directly applied to your first semester tuition bill and will assure that you have a place in the fall class. It is also refundable by the first day of Fall classes. Please pay your Graduate Matriculation Fee online by selecting the third payment option.

Assistantship Placement

Accepted students will receive information regarding available assistantships and interview with potential department supervisors. Every accepted incoming MAHE student is guaranteed an assistantship. To see descriptions of all the MAHE assistantship opportunities offered, please view the Fall 2023 Assistantships. Please note that some of these roles have already been filled.

Additional Information

  • A minimum 3.0 GPA is required for admission; those below this level will be considered, with the requirement that they make use of the Writing Center when enrolled.
  • We are happy to conduct admissions interviews in-person or via Zoom. We highly recommend coming to campus for Interview Day assistantship interviews.
