Taylor Theatre Presents Comedic and Poignant Fable The Madwoman of Chaillot

Taylor Theatre is excited to announce its upcoming production of “The Madwoman of Chaillot,” directed by Tracy Manning, running from November 1-10. This delightful production features a dynamic cast, showcasing both newcomers to the stage and familiar faces from past performances.

Written by Jean Giraudoux and adapted by Maurice Valency, “The Madwoman of Chaillot” is a
satirical tale set in the vibrant streets of Paris during the early 1940s. The story follows the
whimsical Countess Aurelia, known as the Madwoman, as she learns of a sinister plot by the
greed-driven Prospector and his accomplices to destroy the city in their pursuit of oil. With wit,
humor, and a touch of the surreal, Countess Aurelia rallies her fellow Madwomen and a group of vagabonds to devise a plan to save their beloved Paris.

Lead actress Ris Bland, portraying the titular role, invites audiences to experience the magic of
the production, stating, “If you want to see something beautiful, come see the show. If you want to hear something beautiful, come see the show. If you want to feel something beautiful, come see the show.”

Performances will take place in the Mitchell Theatre, located in the Rupp Communication Arts
Center on the Taylor University campus. Evening shows are scheduled for 7:30 pm on
November 1, 8, and 9, with matinees at 2 pm on November 2, 3, and 10.
