For over 177 years, Taylor has created a distinctive higher education experience that is highly student-focused and driven by excellence. Now, efforts to equally strengthen our workplace culture have resulted in official certification as a Best Christian Workplace. Our most recent employee survey places the University in the 71st percentile, as compared to similar organizations.

“This is a testament to the incredible quality of our faculty and staff and their intentional work in strengthening our workplace over the past year,” said Colby Burke, Chief People Officer. “I’m grateful for the leadership, collaboration, and care for one another I see at Taylor on a daily basis.”

Since 2021, Taylor has focused on the principles of the FLOURISH model, developed by Best Christian Workplaces. This model serves as a comprehensive framework for cultivating thriving organizational cultures.

The FLOURISH Model emphasizes eight key pillars necessary for building vibrant workplaces that inspire excellent and purpose: Fantastic Teams, Life-Giving Work, Outstanding Talent, Uplifting Growth, Rewarding Compensation, Inspirational Leadership, Sustainable Growth, and Healthy Communication.

All eight pillars of the FLOURISH Model showed positive progress this year. The survey results highlighted several key strengths, with employees expressing high satisfaction in how Taylor University meets its goals, values diversity, and reflects its mission. These areas were among the strongest in this year’s survey.

Taylor also received positive feedback on collaboration, opportunities for growth, and meaningful conversations about progress. Employees feel their input is valued and appreciate the University’s efforts to recruit capable team members. These results reflect steady progress in making Taylor a great place to work.

Building on this momentum, Taylor uses the model as a roadmap to enhance individual well-being and drive collective performance, unity, and purpose. In addition to the employee survey, the University took part in discovery groups, feedback sessions, and cross-departmental collaboration in creating a path forward.

“While celebrating these milestones, we remain committed to the steady, daily practices that build organizational health,” said Dr. Michael Lindsay, President of Taylor University. “I am so proud of what we accomplished together, and I look forward to making Taylor University an exemplary place for both work and study.”
