Four-Hundred-Twenty To Graduate from Taylor on Saturday

Four-hundred-twenty students are set to receive their degrees from Taylor University during Commencement exercises on Saturday, May 20, at 10 am, in the Kesler Student Activities Center.

In addition to the new graduates, three individuals will receive honorary doctorates from Taylor.

  • Jamie Haenggi, President of ADT Solar, Doctor of Business, honoris causa.
  • Tom Lin, President of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, Doctor of Public Service, honoris causa
  • Russ Pulliam, Journalist, longtime Taylor friend, Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa.  

Haenggi, Lin, and Pulliam join evangelical pastor Dr. Billy Kim, who was awarded the Doctor of Divinity, honoris causa, on April 28.

Taylor’s Class of 2023 consists of 227 women and 193 men.

  • 20 have earned Master of Arts degrees,
  • 206 have earned Bachelor of Science degrees,
  • 186 have earned Bachelor of Arts degrees,
  • 6 have earned Bachelor of Music degrees,
  • 2 have earned Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees,
  • 1 have earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree; and
  • 1 has earned an Associate of Arts degree.
  • 2 graduates have completed the requirements for two Bachelor’s degrees,
  • 32 Bachelor’s degree recipients are completing the requirements for at least two majors.

The graduates come from 32 states and 28 foreign countries including Albania, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bolivia, Canada, China, Colombia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ecuador, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Thailand, Uganda, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Zambia.

Two-hundred-fifty-six of Taylor’s graduating class have earned academic honors:

  • 97 have attained summa cum laude honors,
  • 85 have achieved magna cum laude honors,
  • 74 have earned cum laude honors.

Eleven undergraduates are on track to graduate with a perfect 4.0 grade point average during their years at Taylor.

The graduates of the class of 2023 will join 26,381 previous graduates of Taylor University.
