The Taylor University Endowment team, a group of Taylor business students who specialize in investment and fund management, has been named the top Fixed-Income Manager at QGAME, a national seminar, networking event, and competition held in New York City.

The team, led by Taylor Professor of Finance Dr. Scott Adams, emerged from a field of more than 400 entrants to win the award during the Quinnipiac Global Asset Management Education (G.A.M.E.) VII Forum March 30-April 1.

QGAME is an event that brings college students together from across the United States to learn from industry leaders in the area of investment management. The event was attended by more than 1,400 participants from 147 colleges and universities in 47 states and 37 countries.

The student team included: Ashlen Nisley, Ashley Cook, Nathan Shelton, Chris Robbins, Thomas Oster, and Avery Boxell.

The team manages nearly $2.6 million funds of Taylor University’s endowment portfolio, and was recognized for its work with the fixed income fund within that portion of the endowment. Adams said the competition’s format judged brokerage statements from which judges calculated the risk-adjusted return of the portfolio.

“We have known for many years that our Taylor students possess the acumen, insight and ability to perform at a high level on the international stage whether it is in the area of investment or any other endeavor,” said Adams. “Our student investment team’s performance at QGAME demonstrates the high caliber of students we are able to attract to Taylor and that our finance program provides outstanding, real-world experience that prepares them for success after graduation.”
