Management

Major/Minor

Pursuing Godly Leadership

The Management major singles out high-achievers who emphasize the best management practices and develop business skills that mirror Christ’s servant-leadership role. Studying management at Taylor will spur you on to envision new ideas and gather teams who can make them a reality, incentivizing others to harness their strengths and accomplish a shared goal. Most importantly, you’ll prepare to work with excellence and integrity to make a Kingdom impact in business.

Through hands-on experiences, you will learn what it takes to start a business from the ground up or make an impact on an existing organization. You will discover how to present yourself as a godly example of Christian leadership.

Our specialized Management courses delve into the business of missions, entrepreneurship, and human resources. You will build your skills through developing products and comprehensive business plans, managing limited resources in pursuit of a business venture, and presenting business ideas to potential investors. With a required practicum in the management field, you will learn from professionals what it takes to be an outstanding Christian business leader.

Society of Human Resource Management

The Society of Human Resource Management is a national professional organization. The Taylor University chapter is focused on service and professional development, not only for our members, but also the community. We partner with offices across campus to provide event support for job fairs, the Women in Business Book Club, and the Truth at Work Conference. Students from all majors are welcome to participate.

We host our own events, including panel sessions, professional guest speakers from a variety of professions, networking sessions (where students learn the art of networking), and workshops such as LinkedIn Basics. We also serve in our community at St. Martin’s Community Center every Saturday of the school year. Follow us on Instagram @shrm_tayloru.

New in 2023, Management students can choose to add a concentration in HR Management, allowing further specialization into the study of human resources.

Minor in Management

Develop your knowledge of business leadership with a Management minor. Courses focus on organizational behavior, marketing principles, business ethics, and HR practices. Though the material is applicable to all, a minor in Management pairs especially well with Accounting and Marketing majors.
