Counseling (Minor)

Looking to gain expertise in foundational counseling skills and help people in crisis? 

Help fill our world’s desperate need for compassionate men and women rooted in the truth of the gospel. Learn how to listen well, kindle a genuine desire to help people process life’s difficulties, and share the hope of Christ. Students in this minor commit to methodical and intentional practice. Join them and study contemporary counseling models and techniques that integrate science and faith for a strong and balanced approach.  

You'll be equipped to work in people-focused professions in ministry, education, human resources, or clinical work as a behavioral technician. This minor can also prepare you for graduate school.

Pair Counseling with a Major

Pair the Counseling minor with ministry-focused majors such as Christian Ministries, Youth Ministries, and Orphans and Vulnerable Children. This minor would also be a strong augment to Pre-Art Therapy, any Education major, Pre-Med or Pre-Health Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, or Sport Management.
