Make Your Deposit—Secure Your Spot

Residence halls are expected to fill up quickly! Before you join us on campus, you’ll need to submit a matriculation fee (deposit) of $200.

Here’s what happens after you pay your deposit:

  • You’ll receive a housing form to indicate your housing preferences and roommate (if you’ve already selected one).
  • We put you in the system so our staff can start the course scheduling process.
  • You’ll receive info about getting started at Taylor and about Summer Orientation.

*Please note that all new students are required to live on campus unless they are commuting from their parents’ home.

The matriculation fee deadline for fall admission is May 1. A new or readmitted student who cancels prior to May 1 will receive a full refund.

How to Pay Your Deposit

Register for Campus Housing

Do you have a residence hall you’d prefer to live in while at Taylor? Paying your matriculation fee will begin your housing process. Once this deposit is paid, our housing form will be emailed to you. The sooner you complete your housing form, the more likely you’ll get in your preferred hall.

Meet Your Roommate

Do you already have a roommate idea or are you excited about meeting your roommate for the first time? Starting the housing process will allow you to choose your roommate or have one selected for you. Housing assignments are made based on the date of your housing form submission. If you find your own roommate, your housing assignment will be based on the later of the two housing form submission dates. You’ll find out your housing placement before Summer Orientation!

Housing FAQs

All information about tuition, housing, and meals can be found here.

All freshmen are required to be on the 19-meal plan. Students whose academic status changes to sophomore or higher after the fall semester must remain on the 19-meal plan throughout their entire first year.

After that, students may reduce or increase their meal plan during the first week of classes in a term. After the first week of classes, students may increase their meal plan but may not decrease.

The 10 and 7 meal plans are available to students living in campus apartments, living off campus, or commuting. Student teachers, social work interns, and other students participating in full-time internships/practicums while living in the residence halls are also eligible for the 10 and 7 meal plans.

You can find information about Taylor's residence halls here.

After paying your matriculation fee, you will receive an email with instructions and a link to your housing application portal. Please contact your admissions counselor if you have trouble accessing your portal.

The Academic Enrichment Center manages all academic and housing accommodations. Please contact Scott Barrett at scott_barrett@taylor.edu for more information.

Possibly. Students may apply to change rooms between the fall semester and January term. In October, an application will be posted in the daily student announcements email.

Off-Campus housing is considered overflow housing. The number of students approved to live off-campus is based on projected enrollment and retention and is used to ensure on-campus capacity is effectively managed.

University policy permits the following students to live off-campus: aged 25 or older, married, part-time, senior student teachers, senior social work interns, and students with an off-campus accommodation approved by the Academic Enrichment Center.

Commuters must live in the home of their parents/guardians, and commute from a distance no greater than 50 miles. If you would like to commute, please reach out to housing@taylor.edu.

If you defer or withdraw from Taylor, your spot in housing is no longer reserved. Once you begin the readmission process and pay your matriculation fee, you will be given access to your housing application. After you submit this, the housing office will work to place you.

All graduate students are permitted to live off campus. Graduate students participating in intercollegiate sports at Taylor University may choose to live in an on-campus apartment. These students must be under the age of 25 and live with roommates ages 18 or older. Graduate students are also permitted to live on campus if they have a Residence Life assistantship through the MAHE program.

You'll find a full list of FAQs regarding housing on MyTaylor (login required).

Students wanting to change their roommate or housing preferences should edit their housing application and resubmit it in order for their changes to be recorded.
