Professor of Finance
I was blessed to have the unique experience of working in the areas of public finance, corporate finance and structured finance during my many years in the industry. My former research analyst role has prepared me well for my teaching career as students' learning experience is greatly enhanced by the insights and perspectives I bring to the classroom.
I have published numerous research reports on major financings. They were widely distributed among institutional investors, used by MBIA for bond insurance underwriting purposes and by Fidelity for mutual fund investments.

Growing up in abject poverty, I never imagined I would have so many meaningful experiences because God kept opening doors for me to serve Him and His people. I am thankful for all the learning opportunities which helped me prepare for the next moves.
I consider myself one of the most unlikely people to have had a solid career in the financial industry. For several decades, I worked with professionals from many fields involved in major financings. I also witnessed the rise and fall of many financial titans. People in the industry are valued for their competence in structuring complex deals using "sophisticated" techniques. If they are not guided by the highest ethical standards, their smarts could bring ruins to their clients, their employers and their communities. Seeing how mismanagement of money has destroyed nations, families, and individuals, I have a passion for promoting financial literacy.
Since 2010, I have used my classes as a platform to help students develop proper perspectives on money and financial management, in hopes that they can/will educate others around them. The lack of financial literacy in undeserved communities is particularly acute. My goal is to make financial knowledge more accessible to those who feel they don't have the "qualifications" to learn finance.
After teaching 10+ years in another Christian liberal arts college, I feel called to serve at Taylor. The Business Department has a strong team of faculty and many students with great potential. I will do my utmost to develop students into highly competent finance professionals who also distinguish themselves by their moral character.
