Do you have a love for chemistry and a passion to teach young people?
Taylor’s Chemistry Education curriculum is built around in-depth chemistry studies. With the added practical teaching coursework, you’ll be well positioned to move directly into a career teaching chemistry at the high school or middle school level.
You’ll build a well-rounded foundation of general, inorganic, organic, physical and analytical chemistry. In fact, the Chemistry Education degree will provide students with sufficient chemistry training to proceed to graduate studies in chemistry if so desired. Education classes focus on optimizing lessons to maximize student learning, developing classroom management skills, and growing a comprehensive strategy towards assessment. Students learn how to make chemistry accessible and understandable and learn the best practices for using chemistry equipment in the laboratories.

Career Opportunities:
You’ll spend a full semester of your senior year teaching locally or internationally at two different schools, preparing you to manage your own classroom after graduation.

A Taylor liberal arts education will prepare you to live and work in a fast-changing world. It also goes a step further: laying a strong spiritual foundation that cultivates wisdom. You’ll become a well-versed individual, equipped with critical thinking skills, a lifelong love of learning, and an appreciation for God’s creation.
