Physics Science Education (Major)

If you’re called to share your knowledge with others and have a passion for physics, then consider a major in Physics Science Education

You will gain an in-depth knowledge of physics theories and supplement that knowledge with challenging and applicable Math courses. You’ll also take Education classes that will train you to manage a classroom, create lessons based on your students’ psychological development, and approach assessment with fair and compelling methods. Both physics and education will merge as you learn to make physics accessible to those who might not be scientifically minded.

During your junior and senior year, you will design and complete your own experiments and projects. This will give you hands-on experience designing labs for your own classroom and practicing proper lab techniques and safety. The Physics Science Education curriculum is designed to best prepare students for a career as a physics teacher for grades 5-12.
