Are you passionate about music and storytelling?
Consider adding a songwriting minor to any degree. Wherever you are in your songwriting journey, you can expect professional input in the safety of the Taylor community. With help from faculty members who are industry professionals, you will learn to communicate your thoughts through well-crafted lyrics and impactful music.
Music is a universal language, which gives songwriters the unique opportunity to reach many with the hope of Christ. Through the art of songwriting, the gospel message can reach ears that may never hear a sermon. When songwriters elevate their craft, their messages will be heard.
Check out Taylor’s songwriting minor and find the courage to share your music through writing, performing, and recording.

Career Opportunities:
From solo focused writing work to collaboration with other musicians, Taylor’s Songwriting minor will push you to create impactful music. Here’s a song written for Taylor’s fall 2024 chapel theme called “Wait on You” that showcases collaboration.
Through Taylor’s Songwriting faculty network, you’ll have opportunities to make connections with established artists and writers. The program provides avenues for students to write, perform, and record their songs and will continue to expand those opportunities.

A Taylor liberal arts education will prepare you to live and work in a fast-changing world. It also goes a step further: laying a strong spiritual foundation that cultivates wisdom. You’ll become a well-versed individual, equipped with critical thinking skills, a lifelong love of learning, and an appreciation for God’s creation.
