Designed for fluidity, the Studio Art major allows you to explore a variety of mediums, develop your artistic voice, and pursue the artistic avenues best-suited to your creative gifts.
In addition to studying and practicing art, you’ll be introduced to the world of art exhibitions, galleries, and commissions as you share your artwork outside the studio. Studio Art majors refine their artistic skills and develop their personal style, while learning the ins and outs of the art world from practicing artists.
Students pursuing a Studio Art 2D BFA, Studio Art 3D BFA, or a BA/BS degree spend their senior year creating a body of work that will be displayed in the Modelle Metcalf gallery on campus. Throughout your time at Taylor, you will have opportunities to sell your work, gain commissions, and win awards.

Career opportunities:
A BFA in Studio Art 2D or Studio Art 3D allows students to go deep into art, with a focus on a practical studio component, rather than on lecture or discussion classes. Students take 14 additional credits of art classes, with no foreign language requirement.

A Taylor liberal arts education will prepare you to live and work in a fast-changing world. It also goes a step further: laying a strong spiritual foundation that cultivates wisdom. You’ll become a well-versed individual, equipped with critical thinking skills, a lifelong love of learning, and an appreciation for God’s creation.
