At Taylor University, we don't just teach you how to collect and analyze data; we equip you with the critical thinking skills to transform it into wisdom.
Data has become as transformative and powerful as electricity. From businesses that analyze consumer behavior for improved services, to coaches in the NBA studying their players’ stats, data serves as a powerful tool for understanding complex phenomena, driving innovation, and making decisions.
The Data Science major is built on mathematical and computational reasoning and relies heavily on multi-disciplinary thinking. You’ll learn how to collect and process raw data, turning it into insights and predictions of value. Upon completing the program, you will be able to explore, understand, produce, and interpret data to make educated decisions in your field by using appropriate data analytic tools responsibly and effectively.
But you’ll do more than prepare for a strong career in data science. You’ll understand that it’s not just a numbers game; there are real people behind the data. We teach from a Christian perspective about stewardship of data usage. You’ll understand how the job you do directly impacts the livelihoods of others, and the importance of keeping in mind the people behind the numbers.
