Mathematics-Interdisciplinary (Major)

Strengthen your ability to interpret the world around you, analyze situations, and solve problems.

Mathematics is a key component to many different areas of study. The Mathematics—Interdisciplinary degree is a perfect pathway to double major in another area you’re interested in. Any major can be strengthened with a mathematics degree, and there’s significant course overlap with Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, and Physics. You’ll be a better problem solver, analytic thinker, and able to think deeply about questions.

The Mathematics-Interdisciplinary major is designed to allow you to complete a minor or second major in any area outside of the Mathematics Department.

With this strong foundation and ability to specialize in your area of interest, you’ll be equipped to pursue careers in actuarial science, data science, accounting, finance, the sciences, and many other fields.
