Applied Music

Minor

Fine-Tuning Your Skills

Applied Music focuses on musical instrumental or vocal performance, instead of concentrating on musical theory.

For students interested in taking their music performance skills to the next level, the Applied Music minor is designed to educate you further in the instrument of your choice, support a major, and continue pursuing a passion for music. You’ll develop skills and learn techniques to improve your performance as a vocalist or instrumentalist. Applied music courses focus on music techniques and methods, theory, and pedagogy.

The Applied Music Minor is available to all non-music majors.
