Taylor Student Wins Award from National Society for Human Resource Management Organization

Taylor University student Abbie Cormier '26 won the 2024 Exploration Award from the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) organization. Through a rigorous application process made up of a series of essays, she has been selected to win this award, which includes a $1,200 scholarship and a year-long SHRM membership.

Abbie came to Taylor as a Business Management major and learned about Human Resources in an Introduction to Business class taught by Dr. Julie Little. The next semester, Abbie declared a concentration in Human Resource Management.

"Taylor has a wonderful, accredited business program that has and is equipping me to go out into the marketplace prepared," Abbie said. She currently serves as the vice president of the SHRM chapter at Taylor University and will be completing her second HR internship this summer.

Abbie is honored to receive this national award and considers the scholarship an investment in her education and future career. She also looks forward to utilizing the resources offered through the year-long SHRM membership and connecting with influential HR industry leaders.
